Build a shortlist in three bands, compare colleges on more than rank, and match each to the exam it accepts. For Maharashtra state seats, MAH-CET leads into CAP counselling. A portal projects CAP for July to August 2027, but it is not official yet.
Pick colleges the right way
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 | List 12 to 15 colleges you would attend |
| 2 | Note which exam each accepts |
| 3 | Compare fees, curriculum, location, placement report |
| 4 | Split into reach, match and safe, using your likely score range |
| 5 | Revisit after results |
Use the shortlist method and the NIRF 2025 list as inputs.
The Maharashtra route
MAH-CET is the state exam. After the result, state seats are allotted through the CAP in rounds. Candidates register, upload documents, set preferences and receive allotments. One portal names JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, K. J. Somaiya, N. L. Dalmia and DSIMS among colleges that accept MAH-CET.
Projected 2027 timeline
| Stage | Projected |
|---|---|
| MAH-CET notification | November 2026 |
| Registration | January to February 2027 |
| Exam | April to early May 2027 |
| Result | June 2027 |
| CAP | July to August 2027 |
All of the above is projected by portals and not announced by the CET Cell.
Where this doesn’t apply
We give no cut-off percentiles. The cut-off tables we found were secondary sources with inconsistencies. Use the CET Cell’s round-wise allotment lists for actual numbers. CAP rules can change year to year.
